An experienced crisis manager and communication strategist, Robert Foley offers advice and counsel to clients facing sensitive and high-profile business disputes and investigations.

Robert focuses his practice on commercial litigation, government and internal investigations, white collar criminal defense, and class actions. An outstanding legal researcher and writer, he has experience drafting pleadings, discovery motions, and dispositive motions, as well as deposing witnesses and preparing witnesses for testimony. Robert has also guided individuals and companies through sensitive government and internal investigations by mastering the facts and providing nuanced and thorough assessments of their impact.

Robert’s experience as a judicial law clerk in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois shaped his perspective on handling complex legal matters with a focus on clear and effective communication.

As a senior advisor to the Cook County State’s Attorney prior to his legal career, Robert managed media coverage of high-profile cases and designed and guided a legislative strategy leading to successful outcomes on key initiatives, including a five-year extension of the state RICO law, bail and asset forfeiture reform, and new statutes for special prosecutors and the appointment of outside counsel.
