Bio
Drahcir Smith is a seasoned Labor and Employment attorney who has successfully represented both employers and employees in employment litigation matters. Drahcir is known for her innovative legal writing, her 360° style of thinking, and her easy smile, which she manages to deploy even in the most difficult situations. She has advised numerous Fortune 100 and 500 companies on compliance with employment law, prevention of workplace discrimination, and the development of effective personnel practices. She has considerable experience representing employers in wage and hour actions, discrimination charges and lawsuits, and in litigation involving post-employment restrictive covenants. Drahcir also provides counsel to clients regarding the many employment-related issues that can arise in the context of bankruptcy, reductions-in-force (RIFs), and company wind downs.
Both inside and outside of her professional life, Drahcir believes in the importance of relationships. Her commitment to promoting the rights of individuals at all levels of society has motivated her to spend nearly two decades tirelessly working on and dedicated to diversity-related causes and initiatives. Drahcir serves on the board for Chicago-based organization Camp of Dreams; is a Board Member at Large for the Black Women Lawyers' Association of Greater Chicago, Inc.; and is a fellow with the Chicago Urban League’s IMPACT Leadership Development Program.
