Jack Theis Named to Crain’s 2022 Notable Gen X Leaders List
Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP (RSHC) is proud to announce that partner Jack Theis has been honored as a Crain's Chicago Business 2022 Notable Gen X Leader in Accounting, Consulting, and Law.
Crain’s selected Chicagoans born between 1965 and 1980 who are leaders in their industries, have bolstered their firms’ reputations, and give generously of their time to do pro bono work or build more diverse and equitable teams at their companies to help others rise through the ranks.
Jack has represented corporations and individuals in high-stakes litigation and government investigations involving the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Illinois Human Rights Commission. He has conducted multiple internal investigations for corporate and government clients and represents a wrongfully convicted individual in a civil rights lawsuit against the City of Chicago. Jack has developed a practice area at RSHC focused on DE&I audits, drawing on the firm’s subject-matter expertise and extensive experience in compliance assessments, as well as his handling of sensitive investigations at the highest levels of government.
Jack served as Special Assistant and Associate Counsel to President Barack Obama, where he represented the White House in congressional investigations, managed internal investigations, prepared witnesses for appearances at congressional hearings and interviews, and advised senior administration officials on high-profile litigation. He was also a Trial Attorney at the Federal Programs Branch of the Department of Justice, where he represented Executive Branch agencies in constitutional and regulatory litigation in federal courts across the country.
He is a member of the Policy and Advocacy Advisory Council for the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, providing subject-matter expertise in the area of policy and advocacy to the premier children’s hospital in Chicago. He previously served on the Young Professionals Board of Legal Aid Chicago and on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society.
