Ron Safer and Ed Casmere Named to Inaugural Crain’s Notable Litigators and Trial Attorneys List

Their myriad accomplishments and contributions to client and pro bono work as well as their leadership and mentorship are inspirational. Join us in congratulating them!
Ed has made a career out of litigating, negotiating, and managing some of the most difficult legal issues, in some of the most challenging jurisdictions, against some of the most talented opponents. Ed is the co-lead of RSHC’s Product Liability, Mass Torts, and Environmental Practice Team, chairs RSHC’s Marketing and Business Development Committee, chairs the RSHC Client Satisfaction Program; chairs the firm’s MasterClass professional excellence training; and heads litigation and negotiation training. Ed’s active civic work and board memberships include: Secretary for the Illinois State Bar Association’s Bench & Bar Section Council,; co-editor of the ISBA’s Bench & Bar Newsletter; the ABA’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section Continuing Legal Education Board; vice-chair of Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel’s TTEL Committee; vice-chair of ABA TIPS TTEL Committee; vice-chair of ABA TIPS Product Liability Committee; President of Walnut Grove Homeowners’ Association; and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Feed My Starving Children.
Ron manages complex, high-stakes cases with a focus on bet-the-company civil litigation as well as federal criminal litigation. He has led teams that freed ten wrongfully convicted persons from prison, eight in the Chicago area. Ron is currently working on freeing several other wrongfully convicted persons. Ron’s active civic work and board memberships include: the Board of Trustees for Fisk University; a member of the Commercial Club of Chicago; on the President’s Board for the Uhlich Children’s Advantage Network (UCAN); and a leader in trauma-informed treatment, violence prevention, and youth development in Chicago and throughout the state of Illinois.
