RSHC Adds Noted Litigator and DEI Leader Geoffrey Young to New York Office
RSHC is pleased to welcome partner Geoffrey G. Young to the firm’s Commercial Disputes & Litigation Practice.
Geoff is a seasoned attorney with a winning record of litigating disputes of all kinds, across industries including aviation, biotech, financial services, media and entertainment, technology, and transportation. He is a demonstrated and effective leader, and we are excited to have Geoff help lead the firm’s growth in New York.
Prior to joining RSHC, Geoff was a litigation partner with firms Katten Muchin Rosenman and Reed Smith, where he also served as Executive Director of Diverse Recruiting. Geoff’s practice spans matters related to pharmaceutical drugs and clinical trials, consumer class actions, financing agreements, media broadcasting services, technology services, and biometric-related regulations. He also has experience prosecuting and defending intellectual property disputes, including copyright and trademark infringement matters. In addition, Geoff represents high-net-worth individuals and public figures, including some in the entertainment industry, in disputes inside and outside the courtroom.
Geoff has dedicated a significant portion of his career to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the legal industry. He has served in several DEI leadership positions, including the executive role at Reed Smith in which he guided the firm's strategy for recruiting diverse attorneys at all levels. He is also a member of 1844, which is a group of Black male lawyers who began their legal careers in New York City. The name "1844" refers to the year when Macon Bolling Allen became the first Black person to be licensed as a lawyer in the United States. Geoff has also demonstrated a strong dedication to pro bono service and devoted considerable time to these matters, including capital punishment cases. Welcome, Geoff!
